SPA TRAINING
This award is for those who wish to supervise a group on single pitch crags and climbing walls.
COURSE OVERVIEW
The two day training course will covers such skills as choice of venue, rope management, and correct use of equipment, group management, emergency procedures, crag etiquette access and conservation.
PRE-REQUISITES
MLTE Registration, completed log book. Syllabus from your regional MLTE office.

SPA ASSESSMENT
The assessment course for the SPA award
COURSE OVERVIEW
The assessment lasts for a minimum of two days and includes personal climbing, group supervision and the use of climbing walls.

SPA Training, First aid certificate (16hr) and completed log book.

SUMMER MOUNTAIN LEADER TRAINING
The ML award is for those who wish to lead a group of hill walkers anywhere in the UK under summer conditions.
COURSE OVERVIEW
You will learn such skills as group management, navigation, emergency procedures and equipment, access and conservation and security on steep ground.
PRE-REQUISTES
MLTE Registration, completed log book. Syllabus from your regional MLTE office.

SUMMER MOUNTAIN LEADER ASSESSMENT
The assessment course for the mountain leader award.
COURSE OVERVIEW
This intensive course will look at all aspects of leading groups in the hills and includes a three day expedition.
PRE-REQUISITES
Have completed the mountain leader training course or obtain a letter of exemption from your training, from your regional MLTE office, first aid certificate (16hr), and completed log book. Syllabus available from your regional MLTE office

CLIMBING WALL AWARD
This is the training course for those wishing to proceed onto the full climbing wall award
COURSE OVERVIEW
This scheme is for climbers who wish to be in a position of responsibility when supervising climbing activities on indoor or outdoor climbing walls, artificial boulders and towers. It is primarily concerned with ensuring good practice, leading to the safe enjoyment of climbing activities, and to an understanding of sport. It covers the supervision and management of activities such as bouldering, the teaching of basic movement skills and roped climbing, excluding the teaching of leading
PRE - REQUISITES
Must be registered with the MLTE, and be aged 17 years and over at time of registration. 6 months experience and have climbed 3 different walls on at least 15 different occasions, this must include at least one major public wall. You must have led routes on walls and should have an understanding of the wider sport of climbing and ideally have climbed outdoors
