LEARNING CYCLE

Underpinning theory

We use many theories and models to underpin the way we work with groups, including transactional analysis, NLP, however Kolb's Learning Cycle is our guiding light.

Experience, Reflection and Learning

Our schools programmes recognise the unique human qualities of each child. We aim to balance the objectives of the school with whom we work, against the aspirations and need of each individual young person. All the programmes we design and deliver are experiential in nature.

Our lives are a continual cycle of learning where the past and present influence our development pattern: Experience, Reflection and Learning.

Experience

Through undertaking challenging and adventurous activities, young people build a portfolio of positive significant experience.

Reflection

Individuals then reflect on these positive experiences, placing upon them meaning and reference that enables them to learn and give direction to their future.

Learning

As in life, the pattern is continuous. Once learning has been applied we return to building new experiences from which to develop further.
