Have a happy Christmas and see you in 2018
It’s our final post before we close for the festive break and we’d like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Here at Lakeside, we close on Tuesday 19th December and reopen on Wednesday 3 January 2018.
A fun-packed year
We’ve had another adventurous year, with thousands of children and adults visiting the Centre to take part in our outdoor adventure programmes.
It’s a real privilege to see how young people develop and grow in confidence during their stay with us as they take on challenges, overcome their fears and achieve things they thought impossible.
We’re leaving 2017 on a real high. Our final big event saw us welcome almost 300 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from 5th Penwortham URC Scout Group for their annual visit at the end of November. Despite snow on the hillside, they joined in all our water and land adventures, passing numerous badges and having a fantastic time.
Shortly after the visit we received a lovely note from their Secretary, Peggy Allison, confirming their booking for next year! Peggy wrote:
“Thank you so much for the activities. The instructors were great with the youngsters and we all enjoyed it immensely. Once again thank you and we look forward to next year.”
As well as welcoming Penwortham Scouts back to Lakeside, we’ve a whole host of events to look forward to in 2018. Here are a couple to whet your appetite!
Schools Challenge Cup
In February, schools from around the UK will take on our adventurous challenges in a bid to be crowned Schools Challenge Cup Champion 2018. A few places are still available, call 01539 539000 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
On Saturday 28 April 2018, we’re hosting our first ever Mud Dash to raise money for our new South Centre. With something for all the family, it should be a great day out. You can find out more online by clicking here.
See you next year!
That’s just about it from us for 2017, so all that remains for me to do is wish you all a very happy Christmas from the Lakeside team and we hope to see you next year.
