Name that Lake – 10

Windermere

Windermere is the largest natural lake in England. It’s 10.5 miles long, 1 mile wide and 220 feet deep.

Did you know?

Beatrix Potter had a holiday home here and the book Swallows and Amazons, by Arthur Ransome was based partly on Windermere and partly on Coniston Water.

And, of course, Windermere, with it’s amazing views, is the home of YMCA Lakeside. Well worth a visit!
