Loweswater is found in a wooded valley in the Vale of Lorton. It’s 1 mile long, ½ mile wide and 60 feet deep.
Did you know?
Loweswater is the only lake that drains into the centre of Lakeland. It flows to nearby Crummock Water, to which it was once joined.
As one of the smaller lakes, Loweswater provides a pleasant circular walk and you might even spot some red squirrels in the neighbouring coniferous forests.
