Is your school up for the Lakeside challenge?
Each February we host the Lakeside School Challenge. Year 9 and 10 students from schools throughout the UK compete against each other in a host of outdoor adventures to become Lakeside School Challenge Champions.
More than a trophy
It’s great fun, but your students will get so much more from it than they’ll ever realise.
All challenges are designed with outdoor learning in mind, to help young people:
- Improve communication and teamwork skills
- Try new and challenging activities
- Develop problem-solving skills
- Become more resilient
- Gain leadership skills
- Adapt to new environments and situations
If you think that your school is up for the Lakeside School Challenge, and your young people will benefit from a weekend full of fun, then call our team to find out more about the next Lakeside School Challenge.
How it works
There are up to 6 members in each team, and schools can enter as many teams as they wish.
Schools arrive and receive an introduction to the Lakeside School Challenge.
Saturday and Sunday
Teams take on a range of water and land-based challenges in a bid to win points.
The points are added up. At the presentation ceremony, the team with the most points is crowned Lakeside School Challenge Champion!
What the teachers say
“This was our first year in the Lakeside School Challenge competition and the students were thrilled to win it. However, the students got a lot more than a trophy from their weekend. Their ability to work together as a team developed rapidly whilst each member slowly gained in individual confidence. The level of challenge in each activity was perfectly pitched, there was plenty of variety and each day was well organised. We were impressed by the standard of instruction, food and accommodation, and definitely plan to return next year”
